Last week Arte Suave held another successful 4-day summer camp with Checkmat head coach and living jiu-jitsu legend, Leo Vieira.
It is always great to have Leo come and share his vast knowledge and enthusiasm for jiu-jitsu. This year was no exception, and everyone left the camp spend and tired, but with new techniques and fond memories.

IBJJF Rules Seminar with Alexander Baffoun

This Sunday we will have a 3.5-hour rules seminar on the IBJJF ruleset. The course is taught by Alexander Baffoun, who many may recognize from the Danish Open, where he has been the head referee for the past two years. Alexander usually holds these seminars in Sweden, but now he is coming to Denmark to share his knowledge!

The seminar will conclude with a 30-minute test.

FREE entry! We have decided to make this seminar free to encourage as many participants as possible. The event is open to all clubs.
We are making this seminar in order to get skilled referees for our tournaments, but also to increase the general knowledge base of the IBJJF rules. So come join, even if you don’t have any aspirations to judge, but just want to be more knowledgeable in the rule set.

Meet Our New Yoga Teacher: Anna Glasser

Give a warm welcome to our new yoga teacher, Anna Glasser. Anna is replacing Vincent, who will still teach on Sundays. Anna’s classes will be on Wednesdays from 18.15-19.15.

About Anna:
Anna Glasser is currently a teacher at the Yoga Flat in Copenhagen, where she also completed her Yoga Alliance teacher training in January 2024. She has been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years and is very comfortable on the mat. Anna has a background in competitive sports – mainly lacrosse and football, so she enjoys being around other serious competitors.

Anna enjoys teaching active and physically challenging classes, but is always willing to adjust based on the needs and preferences of her students. A slower tempo can always be accommodated, and even in an active class, there are options for students to take it at their own pace.

With a strong interest in yoga breath work, Anna is eager to share her knowledge with athletes, as she believes it can significantly enhance their performance, recovery, and stress management.

Last chance to register for DM in BJJ

Make sure to register for DM in BJJ, before the end of 18th of August, which is the last chance for late registrations.
The tournament is held the on 24th of August in the facilities of Arte Suave.
You will be able to compete both gi and no-gi.
Remember: The competition is only for people with Danish residence. You have to have a permanent address in Denmark, though you don’t have to be born in Denmark.
