Arte Suave christmas party
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! This year’s Christmas party (julefrokost) will be held on December 6th in the cafeteria at Grøndals Multicenter. The festivities start at 18:30, so you’ll have time to train and shower beforehand. We have the cafeteria reserved until 23:00, and those who want to can continue the party elsewhere, afterwards.
The last day to sign up is Thursday, November 28. (After November 28, cancellations and refunds will unfortunately not be possible.)
Price per person is 229 kr. and also include vegetarian or vegan option – just let us know your choice when you sign up.
You can sign up for the event at the reception. We hope to see a lot of you join the festivities, and get to know your training partners better.
Everyone is asked to bring one or more small gifts for the gift game (pakkeleg), with a combined value of no more than 50 kr.
We will also organize some fun games and entertainment – just bring your good spirits.
17 Arte Suave competitors at Malmö Open
This weekend we have 17 competitors going to Malmö Open, BJJ and no-gi, in Sweden. With 931 registrations in total, this is a big event that we are excited to see our members try their hand at.
We wish all of you good luck, and hope you will have fun and represent Arte Suave well!
BJJ Liga coming up!
This Saturday, the 9th of November, Arte Suave hosts BJJ Liga, which has 38 registrations from our club. Make sure to come by and cheer for your training partners and watch some great jiu-jitsu!
The tournament starts at 10:30, after the weigh-ins.
Squat workshop with Martin Prassé this Sunday
This Sunday the 10th of November we will have a workshop on squat technique, by our physical trainer, Martin Prassé.
Martin trains our elite athletes, and brings wealth of knowledge and expertise.
In this workshop, you will:
- Receive personalized guidance to find a squat style that matches your body and anatomy.
- Discover how different squat variations benefit your training.
- Improve mobility and reduce the risk of injury.
- Strengthen your glutes and thighs.

Open mat for Checkmat members
Our next open mat for Checkmat members will be held the 30th of November. The previous ones have been a lot of fun, and we hope to see plenty of you join this one as well.
This is a great chance to train with new partners and test your techniques against someone with a different style than you’re used to. The event is open to everyone from Arte Suave or any Checkmat-affiliated academy. No sign-up is necessary.
The event is both gi and no-gi!
Important note on the usage of lavatories
We ask all of our members to please refrain from using the toilets in the building as changing rooms and showers. We have recieved complaints from the staff at Grøndals Center, because the lavatories are occupied for long stretches of time by our members, and that the floors are getting wet from people splashing water on themselves.
Please remember that there are other users in this building, including elderly who are afraid of slipping on the wet floors. We urge you to be considerate and use the designated locker rooms, to change your clothes and shower, so that the lavatories can be used for their intended purpose.
This also applies to our lavatories in our performance gym.

Arte Suave European Open Jiu-Jitsu Meeting – January 2025
Saturday, the 16th of November we’re holding a meeting for everyone interested in competing at the European Open in Jiu-Jitsu in Portugal this coming January. This is a great chance to start planning both the training camp and the trip, and the sooner we organize, the smoother everything will be.
Even if you’re just considering going, please join us – there are no obligations. The meeting is open to all adult and master competitors, from white to black belt.
