Three victories for Arte Suave at Lowkey MMA

Last weekend we had three fighters at Lowkey MMA: Mikkel Jenker, Mikkel Jensen and Altay Erson.
We where happy to have Mikkel Jenker return to MMA after his previous fight, where he received an illegal kick to his head while being down. This was Mikkels second junior match and he secured a victory by judges’ decision.
Mikkel Jensen made a strong start to his amateur career, winning his amateur MMA debut with a rear naked choke (RNC) in the first round.
Altay Erson also had his first amateur MMA fight, earning a victory by judges’ decision after a competitive match.

Competition Achievements

• ADCC World Champion 2022: Giancarlo, who was not considered a favorite in the tournament, won the prestigious ADCC World Championship in 2022 with a high submission rate, submitting all-time ADCC greats such as Matheus Diniz and Lucas ‘Hulk’ Barbosa.
• ADCC World Champion 2024: Coming off his 2022 success, expectations were high, and Bodoni did not disappoint, delivering performances that once again cemented his status as one of the top competitors in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This time he managed to secure a win over grappling phenom, Jay Rodriguez in the final match, earning him his second world title.
• IBJJF Titles: He has also earned several medals in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) competitions, across several belts.

A succesful rules seminar concluded

Last weekend we had 10 participants in our free IBJJF rules seminar with Alexander Baffoun.
The seminar provided an in-depth look at the IBJJF rule set, helping to educate new judges and expand the Danish BJJ community’s understanding of competition guidelines. It was a valuable opportunity for both competitors and aspiring judges to deepen their knowledge and ensure fair play in future tournaments.
Due to the positive response and the importance of understanding these rules, we plan to host another free seminar in the future. We hope to see even more participants next time as we continue to grow and strengthen our BJJ community. And hopefully we will also have judges coming from the other Danish BJJ academies in the near future.

Arte Suave Summer Games and post training BBQ

The 30th of August, 6 PM, we will have another rendition of our famous Arte Suave Summer Games!

Join us for an evening of fun, friendly competition, and hopefully good weather!
Sign up with a partner, or come alone and we’ll pair you up or let you compete solo—everyone’s welcome. We will have a variety of games and challenges designed to bring out your competitive side while having a great time. Note: this is not a crossfit-type competition, but just a lot of low stakes fun and games, where everyone can compete.

Afterwards we will fire up the grill and have a BBQ, where everyone is welcome. We provide cutlery, but you must bring your own drinks and food for the grill.
This will probably be the last BBQ of the season, so if you missed out on the others, don’t miss this one!
