Happy New Year & Upcoming events in 2026
We are hope everyone have had a good holiday and great New Year’s Eve. In January we see a lot of new faces starting their martial arts journey and making a positive change in their life – make sure to welcome those new people on the mat and give them a good experience!
This is the week when the European Championships in jiu-jitsu are running, and we have a lot of competitors joining this year. We’ve run a really nice camp in the month leading up to the tournament and we hope everyone’s hard work will pay off.
Note that a lot of the regular instructors will be away in the next 1½ week, because they will be out coaching at Europeans. You can catch your teammates matches on flograppling.com.

Victory at Dominance FC
Arte Suave’s MMA team kicked off 2026 in great fashion with two victories at Dominance FC where Mikkel Milandt Jensen and Rida Jawad fought in the under card.
Rida won in the very first round, by submitting his opponent with a guillotine choke.
Likewise, Mikkel took his opponent to the ground, and submitted him with an arm triangle choke, in the very first round.
Well done both of you and congratulations to the whole team – let’s keep this up for the rest of the year!
BJJ Nation
There is still time to sign up for BJJ Nation, in Mölndal, Sweden. The competition runs February 14th and 15th and is both gi and no-gi. Make sure to sign up before the 8th of February when registration closes.

Danish Grappling League
Don’t miss out Danish Grappling League which are held right on Arte Suave’s mats on February 21.
This is a great no-gi tournament for the advanced and beginner jiu-jitsu practitioner alike. And at the price of 200 DKK at early bird price, this is probably the most affordable jiu-jitsu competition in Denmark. The format is round robin, meaning you will compete against everyone in your division, win or lose – you are therefore guaranteed a lot of matches and valuable competition experience.

ADCC Denmark Open
Finally we have ADCC Denmark Open on 21st of March, held in Grøndals Multicenter.
ADCC is arguably the most prestigious no-gi competition rule set, and we are glad to be able to provide the Danish competitors an opportunity to gather competition experience in this rule set.
