Last weekends results from IBJJF Europeans Championship

Last weekend Arte Suave had ten competitors at the IBJJF Europeans Championship, in Paris. This is probably the most prestigious BJJ championship in Europe and we are proud of everyone who participated and put it all on the line.

Several of our athletes made it to the quarter finals in hard-contested divisions, but unfortunately didn’t make it to the finals.

All though it did not go everyone’s way, Mads Hørsholt won a hard-fought bronze medal, in the brownbelt, heavyweight adult division.

Our coach, Joachim Christensen faced four tough opponents, one of whom previously won the world championship in the same category. However, Joachim managed to beat all his opposition, thus achieving the gold medal in the blackbelt, ultra heavyweight master 4 division!

Big congratulations on all the wins, and on all the great performances!

Deadlift workshop with Marinela successfully completed!

On the 20th of January, we conducted the first of many workshops at our performance gym, this time focusing on the deadlift.
It was great to see all of the participants and their enthusiasm for the workshop. A big thank you to Marinela for organizing the workshop and for her excellent instruction.
Marinela is open to your suggestions for future gym workshop themes.

Coming up: DGL 3rd of February

The 3rd of February Danish Grappling League will be held on the premises of Arte Suave.
This is an exciting tournament format, with a lot of action and submissions.
Registrations have closed, but we have 138 registrations for the event, with 31 registrations from our club. So make sure to come and support your teammates and watch some exciting jiu jitsu.
